Fellow Students, 

As you all know, Lipscomb just held its annual elections for Executive Officers and Senators. On behalf of all the newly elected members and returning ones, we would like to thank this year's officers for their dedication to SGA. Let us begin by thanking each of you for the turnout in this year's elections, which was Lipscomb's highest! We are invigorated by the support you showed our organization and its candidates. 

The Lipscomb University Student Government Association (SGA) strives to provide students with quality service, spiritual, and entertainment opportunities. Additionally, the SGA also works hard to address student concerns with the Lipscomb faculty, staff and administration.

The SGA is composed of 32 members. Five senators are elected from each class and eight from the student body at-large. The four executive officers complete the senate and are responsible for its day-to-day operation. 

Of great importance to the SGA are its four standing committees -- academic, entertainment, spiritual life and student life. These committees are appointed by the SGA President and are open to all students. Students interested in serving on an SGA committee should contact SGA Secretary Ben Hardison at hardisonbj@mail.lipscomb.edu for more information.                              

This year's executive officers are ready to advocate for you. While we are excited by your participation and by some initiatives already proposed,we can't stop with voting; we need YOUR help and suggestions.

Most importantly, we want you to know that this administration pledges to be resourceful, innovative, and pragmatic in our ideas and decisions. This is a new era of Student Government at Lipscomb University. We are ready to stand up and be a voice for students. But once again, we need your help and input. With this administration working hard everyday for you and you giving us input on the things we are doing right and wrong, we will move forward and make life on this campus better than it already is.
